Robert Jordan (19482007), the pen name of James Oliver Rigney Jr., was an American author best known for creating The Wheel of Time, one of the most expansive and influential fantasy series ever written. His work is celebrated for its detailed world-building, complex characters, and intricate plotlines. Before becoming a full-time writer, he served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a nuclear engineer.
